ASID Student Competition: Touchdown

Werkstatt is a mobile workplace within the San Francisco International Airport. Its main purpose is to provide travelers with the opportunity to relax and work at the same time. Werkstatt features an eat-in bar, a retail area, a lounge and a concierge desk to help with any needs the travelers may have. This project was the first one done entirely in Revit and as a result had a much smoother process than some of the earlier featured designs. Influenced by the Bay Area water, the reception desk and one feature wall incorporate waves which in plan view, appear to both welcome the traveler in and also wave them out (by the exit). The storefront and the wall by the cashier in the eat-in area also mimic each other with alternating bricks on the surface.

A feature wall lines the exit, and workstations and conference rooms are close by.

Aside from offering workstations, there is also a small eat-in area and lounge. The floor plan offers a unique shape and plenty of circulation.
